| March 22, 2007 | The Georgia Court of Appeals upholds trial court's
decision reversing the Professional Standards Commission sanctioning of
two school teachers accused of unethical conduct, as a result of a party
thrown by their daughter in which alcoholic beverages were consumed by
public high school students. Pope Langdale and Tina Folsom represented
the teachers throughout the litigation, and achieved landmark precedent
in the support of teachers throughout the state of Georgia. It is anticipated
that this decision will be often cited by other lawyers representing teachers
throughout the state of Georgia. |
| April 16, 2007 | Langdale Vallotton, LLP co-sponsors
a CLE Real Estate Seminar along with the Valdosta Bar and First American
Title Insurance Company. The event was held
at the Valdosta-Lowndes County Convention Center, including topics of current
trends in title
insurance claims, 1031 tax deferred exchanges and the red flags of mortgage
fraud. It was attended by 30 local real estate attorneys as well as representatives
of Thomson West, Lexis and BB & T. |
| April 28, 2007 | Pope Langdale is elected as a District Vice-President of the Georgia Trail Lawyers Association (GTLA). The GTLA is the premier, state wide organization of trial attorneys representing injured victims and wronged consumers. |
| May 11, 2007 | Pope Langdale speaks at the Jury Trial Seminar hosted
by the General Practice and Trial section of the State Bar of Georgia,
and sponsored by the ICLE. |
| May 12, 2007 | Pope Langdale is elected Secretary/Treasurer of
the General Practice and Trial Section of the State Bar of Georgia. The
Practice and Trial Section is one of the largest sections of the State
Bar of Georgia, and consists primarily of providing support to those attorneys
in Georgia whose practice primarily consists of Litigation, Civil Litigation
and Trial Work. |
| June 17, 2007 | Christina
Folsom is highlighted in the Valdosta Daily Times June 2007 special
advertising section titled "A Tribute To Our Lady Lawyers". The
section included information about her practice, as well as her
professional and personal achievements. |
| August 1, 2007 | Pope Langdale is appointed to the Unlicensed Practice of Law District 2 Committee by the Supreme Court of Georgia. This committee is responsible for investigating all reports of unlicensed practice of law and submitting reports of findings to the staff counsel of the State Bar of Georgia. The committee is also responsible for making recommendations regarding proposed litigation arising out of these investigations. |
| September 2007 | Daniel Schert joins the Board of Directors for the Bank of Valdosta. |
| November 2007 | Langdale Vallotton settles what is
believed to be one of the largest pre-suit wrongful death cases in Brooks County, Georgia. Pope Langdale successfully negotiated a 1.2 million dollar settlement arising out of the wrongful death of a middle age woman killed in a traffic accident. She was not married, not employed, and was survived by her 30 year old son. |
| November 8, 2007 | Langdale Vallotton, LLP hosts an open house for all the real estate agents in Valdosta, as well as the surrounding areas. Approximately 100 attendants mingled, enjoying hors d’ oeuvres and drinks at the Langdale Vallotton office. |
| November 9, 2007 | Langdale Vallotton settles one of the largest non-catastrophic personal injury suits in Lowndes County, Georgia. Pope Langdale and Tina Folsom successfully negotiated a $725,000.00 settlement for a 64 year old man who suffered a broken leg in a motor vehicle accident. His total medical expenses were approximately $51,000.00. Lost wages were disputed, as was any future medical expenses that may be required. Furthermore, there was no punitive aspect to the case. |
| November 29, 2007 | Pope Langdale and Tina Folsom settle wrongful death claim of 7 year old Florida boy who drowned in his uncle’s swimming pool in middle Georgia for $275,000, just shy of the homeowner’s policy limits. Liability was hotly contested in the case due to natural mother being present at the time of the drowning and the fact that uncle was a local pastor of the church. |

The goal of the board members of this local chapter serve as the face of the American Cancer Society in Valdosta, assisting in the fight against cancer while working to ensure that the community has access to quality cancer prevention, early detection and treatment services. |
