Estate Planning and Probate

Our firm routinely counsels clients regarding the preparation of wills and trusts to assist clients in business and estate planning.  We work closely with accountants and insurance agents to ensure the orderly transfer of assets to beneficiaries and future generations while minimizing tax liabilities associated with such transfers.  We also work with clients to address future medical contingencies through the use of living wills and health care powers of attorney.

Our firm also has extensive experience advising clients regarding estate administration and preparing court filings to ensure the proper administration of estate.  We have been engaged to defend and to pursue claims arising out of some of the largest disputes regarding estates in South Georgia.  We have a history of litigation success in defending the enforcement of prenuptial agreements and wills.  We recently successfully represented a deceased’s son in defeating his stepmother’s attempt to destroy the testamentary desire of her husband, ultimately resulting in a complete dismissal of the lawsuit, and affirmance by the Georgia appellate courts.
