Commercial Real Estate
Our commercial real estate
team is lead by senior partner William P.(“Bill”)
Langdale, Jr, a founding partner of the firm. Most
commercial transactions are staffed by two attorneys,
as well as one legal assistant who specializes in
commercial real estate transactions. Our commercial
real estate team is comprised of highly skilled attorneys,
who approach each deal with the insight and business
background to help the client understand not only
the legal issues involved, but the business issues
and risks as well.
Led by Bill’s vast experience and insight,
our firm is able to offer expert legal advice in
this area that is nonexistent at most firms. Bill
is not only a leader in analyzing commercial transactions,
from complex leases to asset and stock purchases,
but is also a seasoned investor and developer himself,
with interests in ongoing projects, ranging from
the Florida coast to Colorado. This allows
us to approach our clients’ needs and questions
not only from the perspective of the attorney,
but also from the perspective of the businessman,
recognizing the potential risks and returns and
addressing problems and issues seen and experienced
many times before. There are very few attorneys
in the State of Georgia, or elsewhere, who can
offer this type of insight into a business deal.
As a result of this expertise, the firm’s real estate partners have
handled an astonishing volume of commercial transactions throughout the
region, usually only seen handled by the larger Atlanta law firms. For
instance, we recently handled the closing of $190 million dollars of industrial
warehouse space in Savannah, Georgia to Duke Realty, a publicly traded
entity, which resulted in Duke becoming the largest industrial landlord
in Savannah. Over the last five years, we have annually handled over
$75 million in real estate closings, and leases, for warehouse space from
Florida to Savannah. We assisted in the purchase by Wild Adventures
of Cypress Gardens amusement park, the oldest theme park in Florida and
we have been involved in numerous large hotel transactions from Valdosta
to Atlanta.
